Kellie Martin (born Kellie Marien) is an acclaimed American actress. She has starred in numerous TV shows, such as "Christy", a comedy about a teenage girl known as Christy Huddleston. Kellie Martin is best known for her performance as the protagonist of The Hailey Dean Mystery Series. Martin was the daughter of a department store buyer as well as a kindergarten instructor. She began acting in the age of seven when her aunt, an nanny for Michael Landon's household, assisted Martin get a part as a guest star on the TV show Father Murphy. After her Yale University graduation, she focused on acting, and managed to get major roles on the film and television industries. In addition to being an actress Martin is an accomplished photographer, as well as a ballet dancer. As a mother to two children, she has become the National spokesperson for Lupus. She has actively promoted the disease since her younger sister died from the illness at age 19.
